Embroidery Company Names
The embroidery of employee's and company names is an upscale alternative to a plastic name tag. The process includes a selection of a font, the location of the embroidery, the width of that embroidery and price.
Starting with the selection of a font, if the embroidery is the companies name, such as True to Size Apparel, you are best served by staying with the font you are using on your letterhead, website, etc. and having that exact customized font digitized. Embroidery digitizing is a process of converting your JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF or similar graphic file that some people know as a digital file into a computer program that a multi-ton embroidery machine can read, an executable file that is used to provide instructions to embroidery machines. True to Size Apparel is a price leader, charging a mere $7.77 for a 5,000 stitch setup / digitize file. When planning embroidery company names, you should select one of the "house" fonts that we offer which will save you a setup / digitizing fee. There is no setup / digitizing requirement / expense if you use our house font for names.
With regard to the location of your names embroidery, company names & custom logos are typically embroidered on the wearer's left chest, while company employee names are embroidered on the wearer's right chest. There is a limitation as to the number of characters that will fit on one line, as the maximum width should not exceed 3.5 inches and the minimum height should be 3/8 of an inch. You can get about twelve characters in a line for best results.
Thread color choice should be that of your logo color if it is a solid color. There are fewer choices of colors in thread than in ink, and not all PMS colors are available in thread. Also consider the fact that fabric has "dye lot" issues and that an absolute PMS match is not guaranteed. This is true of thread and of course finished garments such as shirts.
Price is determined by thread count. The embroidery store at True to Size Apparel charges only $2.99 per word for custom names. Example: "Gene" is one word, "Gene Constant" is two words. The clarity is necessary here because we get quite a few customers who insist that one name is a first and last and are not interested in the fact that we are charging per word, not per name. The digitizing of names is free and no charge is required if you stay with one of our many house fonts.
